Bronco To The Rescue! In Sensitive Remodel Project |
||
The floor covering contractor had a problem. In fact, he had a number of problems. He had to remove 10,000 sq. ft. of rubber sports flooring bonded with urethane adhesive at a sports training facility and he had only 12 hours to complete the job before the building opened for business the next morning. Not only that, but the facility had no loading dock to offload a large, heavy-duty floor stripper. And, even if it did, the flooring to be removed was confined to a series of narrow aisles bordered on one side by floor-to-ceiling, plate glass windows and on the other side: a three foot high wall of fragile ceramic tile. It was no place for a large, clumsy machine to be lumbering about. “A bull in a china shop,” the contractor shuddered. That’s when he remembered hearing about a new, contractor-grade stripper that his floor covering distributor had been trying to get him to take a look at - the Bronco from Taylor Tools. “It’s relatively small but just as powerful as the big machines,” the distributor had said. “Its maneuverability is amazing and it’s faster than any stripper I’ve ever seen. It has near-zero emissions and is approved for use in occupied facilities,” he continued. “Oh, and by the way, it costs thousands less than competitive strippers,” he grinned. Under the existing circumstances, the contractor figured that he didn’t have anything to lose and called the distributor for a demonstration of this miraculous, new Bronco. That evening, the Bronco arrived at the job site. Sure enough, just getting into the building was going to be tough. A loading dock that was no larger than a small front porch and a sharp angle into a narrow door opening confronted the contractor. Definitely not a situation for one of the huge, heavy stripping behemoths that he was familiar with. |
But the sleek, little Bronco buzzed off its trailer, around the corner and through the doorway in a flash. “So far, so good,” the contractor said. “Now let’s see how well it strips.” Pretty darn good as it turned out. The combination of the Bronco’s small footprint and meticulous maneuverability allowed the operator to pirouette through the narrow aisles quickly peeling the tenacious rubber flooring right up to its borders. The Bronco’s silky-smooth acceleration was a delightful contrast with the lurching, jerky movements of other machines and provided peace-of-mind when stripping close to the large windows. And when it came to stripping speed, the contractor was dumbfounded. He calculated that the Bronco could strip nearly twice as fast as any machine he’d ever seen. And, as a result, the job was completed well before the all-important deadline. Bottom line: The customer was thrilled, the contractor breathed a sigh of relief and the Bronco is now a permanent member of his workforce. |
